What's New
Tire Inflation Station, Recycling Station and Smart Spaces at the Charles Square Garage by Dennis Safford, Propark News The latest phase of green initiatives has been completed at the Charles Square Garage in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Situated under the renowned Charles Hotel, the garage features a Juice Bar (electric vehicle charging station), nanoMAX parking technology (which assesses a rate based on a vehicle's unique carbon footprint) and Hotel Bike (free bicycle lending program). Space reconfiguration has expanded to include "smart spaces" for owners of smart vehicles, which compliments the already existing Mini spaces that were included in phase one of the green initiatives at the Charles Square Garage. In addition to the new "smart spaces" Propark America, the national parking management company which oversees the parking operations at the Charles Square Garage, has unveiled a Tire Inflation Station and a Recycling Station at the parking facility. Studies have shown that properly inflated tires have a positive impact on vehicle miles-per-gallon. The free Tire Inflation Station allows patrons of the Charles Square Garage to properly inflate their tires so that they may achieve optimum fuel efficiency. The Recycling Station is located adjacent to the Tire Inflation Station, allowing patrons to discard and recycle items in their vehicle before or after they inflate their tires.
